“When she thought it over afterwards it occurred to her that she ought to have wondered at this,
but at the time it all seemed quite natural”
― Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

NAVAL BASES & RAD LABS

Eight years before I was born, in 1948, my father began his training in all things nuclear. These are the facilities, Naval bases and shipyards that surrounded our life for decades. I was born at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, next station assignment was Treasure Island. His duties took him to the main shipyards of the San Francisco Bay Area that involved ships in the PPG tests from 1951 to 1969, he died in 1989 following 17 years of research and testing of his highly radiated body at the amazing Oaknoll Naval Hospital in Oakland, California.
